Ice in Tulsa
Well we have made it through the storms so far. There is more on the way supposedly. We seem to have had the best of the bad weather. To our south in Muskogee, whole trees have been uprooted roots and all. I saw one on TV, the whole root ball out of the ground while the top of the tree was ice coated.
No power out here yet. It has affected the local Fox channel knocking the signal around in the middle of the 1st half of the NFC game. The station explained that the icy sleet was so thick that the signal could not get through from the satellite though the station stayed on. CBS station will have the Patriots on in a while. Am hoping that the station stays on that long.
Almost every Church canceled services this morning here in Tulsa including Grace, the one that I go to. I think the only one that stayed open was Victory and they have there services live on the Internet so you have to wonder how many they really had live. Gabe, my oldest son in Indonesia tried to get into his home church through their on line service, but so many people were on he could not get a log on that would stay on.
Kids are out of their school for the MLK holiday so they will not be missing a day, but not sure how much longer they will be home because we will not get above freezing for several days. Because of that the roads might not melt enough to get them cleared off and the kids would have to stay home from school. Might be time, as one TV commentator said, to break out a deck of cards and a box of cheerios for chips and teach the kids to play poker. Maybe the kids would have to teach me as I do not know how to. Wife's school is still on as of this moment. I will not get off work. One of the benefits/curses of working from home is that you do not get to have a weather day off.
